How Does It Work?

All the Litter Robot in the series use the same process in cleaning waste materials from your cats.

Aspherical chamber, or Globe, sits atop the machine where your cats can enter to do their business.

The lower part is the receptacle where all litters go into.

The Litter Robot detects when your cat is inside it.

After they jump out of the Litter Robot, it signals the system to proceed with its self-cleaning process.

All Litter Robots are also equipped with sensors that can detect if your cat re-enters the chamber just right after getting out.

This will trigger the self-cleaning process to abort.

As the Globe starts to rotate, the silt inside covers the litter and washes it away into the litter box.

Gravity helps the rotating motion to pull down clumped litters, ensuring nothing stays on the Globe after it’s done cleaning itself.

This takes about 7 minutes to complete.

Litters are placed in a waste drawer big enough to be left out for a number of days without worrying about it getting full.

You also don’t have to worry about the odor because the LR’s waste drawer has carbon filters that trap any smell from getting out of it.

1) Litter Robot II Bubble Unit

This is an improved version of the Classic LR II which will soon be discontinued.
The opening into the Globe of the Classic model seems to be too small to accommodate larger cats.

They remedied this issue by mounting bubble windows on the unit, making it bigger by 3 inches than the last model.

The windows also allowed more light to enter the chamber to reduce the confining feel of the litter area.
This version is just bigger than the previous model but technically works the same.

2) Litter Robot III Open Air

This is the latest and best LR in the series.

It’s highly recommended by cat owners who have experienced its wonders.

Several features have been added to this model.

For one, it has a larger oval opening into the spherical litter chamber, allowing it to accommodate even the largest of cats.

Its ‘open air’ feel also makes cats feel less trapped.

The waste drawer also has a LED indicator that will tell you if it’s time to replace the drawer with a new plastic bag.

This is a great feature for busy owners who keep forgetting to check the drawers at least once a week.

For those who still forget even if the indicator is on, the LR III can still take a few more litter cycles before really pleading to get cleaned.

Another excellent feature is its night mode.

A blue light will illuminate the LR III in darkness, allowing you and your cats to easily locate it even in the middle of the night.

 

This is the only model in the series that enables you to adjust the self-cleaning duration from the standard 7 minutes.

You can hasten it up to 3 minutes so it can clean itself faster to accommodate the next cat in line.

This is ideal for households with multiple cats.

You can also adjust it to take up to 15 minutes of self-cleaning time to thoroughly remove everything that might stick inside the chamber.

The noise the LR III makes is nearly negligible but it can still be set to go into sleep mode to completely eliminate any noise it might make.
The odor control of the LR III’s waste drawer has been greatly improved over the previous models.

The drawer allows air to pass through it but traps bad odor in using the carbon filters mounted on it.

This prevents odor from cat litters from contaminating the air.

And if you have kids at home, the control panel can be locked to prevent them from playing with it.
